I will admit it here ? I LOVE Rogue River Blue cheese. As I pass through the area tomorrow, the Rogue store will be one of my stops. Heck, I?m staying in the area, with fantasies of me, a crusty loaf of bread, good wine, and a large lump of cheese. My tent will be a happy place.
Anyway, it might come as a surprise that their Rogue River Blue has won best of show for the second time! Not to be confused with their other blues which are quite interesting themselves, the Rogue River Blue is the flagship. I haven?t seen it in stores recently (it?s the one wrapped in brandy-soaked grape leaves), but I?m sure it will appear soon.
You can find their cheese at quite a few of the local farmers markets, so check around. Tell them Food Dude sent you ? and he?s not above graft and corruption when it comes to cheese. Try the butter too; it?s darn good.
